An editor works closely with authors to develop, liven, and perfect their books. Editing improves awkward sentences, wordiness, and weak word choices; it focuses on the theme, the characters, and the story line itself. It also may involve recommending rewrites to parts of the story that need strengthening. Published authors often learn to revise their own work to a great extent, yet a good editor may still find ways to improve the form and content of their work.
As part of my service I can provide the following:
Copy editing, proofreading, developmental editing
Manuscript critiques
Submission materials: book proposals, query letters, synopses, agent/publisher research
Please contact me for a reasonable quotation... [email protected]
Copy editing
Editing for grammar, usage, spelling, punctuation, and other mechanics of style; checking for consistency of mechanics and for internal consistency of facts
Proofreading
Detection and correction of any obvious errors in the manuscript
Substantive/Developmental/Structural Editing
Clarifying or reorganizing a manuscript for content and structure, clarifying meaning, eliminating jargon, and other non-mechanical editing.
This may include suggestions to the author for rewriting and reorganization of text.

Testimonials
Annie Seaton is much more than just an editor – she is the friend I wished I had met many years ago! I know I can trust her to be honest, yet supportive. As an editor she is excellent; thorough, meticulous and prompt – but she ensures that she preserves the author’s voice and the integrity of the story that you are trying to tell. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Annie as an editor, since knowing her, I have progressed from an aspiring author to being a multi-published writer and look forward to many more years of working together in the future. Thanks Annie! - Susie Medwell/Zara Stoneley'
"Annie Seaton’s commitment to her work goes far beyond her excellent editing skills. She’s detail-oriented, always answers any question you may have in a timely manner and she goes the extra mile to ensure her customer’s satisfaction. I will be forever grateful to Annie for her outstanding editing. If you are serious about getting published, there’s no better investment." Carmen Falcone - A Vengeful Affair
"Annie Seaton is the reason I am a published author and I will be forever indebted to for her patience, knowledge and editorial skills. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! " Dilys J Carnie. Her Passionate Protector
"Annie Seaton is the easiest and most pleasant editor I've worked with. She is thorough in her attention to detail, and clear in explanation of reasons for making changes while preserving my 'voice'. I look forward to working with her on future projects." Susanne Bellamy
The reason I picked Annie to be my editor is because of her honesty and willingness to work with me and my needs. Other editors I interviewed either weren't enthusiastic about my writing or professional about the service they were offering me. Annie was both and I wouldn't want anyone else to go on this journey with. Thanks Annie! Sheryl Hoyt writing as Saralynn Hoyt
"I approached Annie to complete the copy editing of my first self-published book. She was very prompt in replying to me at all times, and she had the edited manuscript back to me within a few days. Annie was easy to work with, her editing was excellent, and I would certainly recommend her to other authors looking to self-publish their work." - Soraya Lane -Change
"Without Annie Seaton I would still be wondering why I was getting rejection after rejection. After working with this talented lady, I signed five contracts in one year. Yes, five. If you are serious about your writing you would be doing yourself a disservice not utilizing her skills. I can't praise her highly enough.
Thanks for being my lifeline, Annie." Ann B. Harrison-Taming the Outback
"I am using Annie's editing service for my current project and I would certainly recommend her. She's friendly, helpful, professional, encouraging and inspiring. Her editing services are affordable and she is willing to go at a pace that suits you, whether it be single chapters or a whole manuscript. Always happy to help you out with no too small of a query via Facebook or email, you forget she's on the other side of the world! Praise for the Seaton! " Samantha Darling
As a new writer, I learned a lot from Annie's structural edits on my novella. Her comments and suggestions were insightful, constructive and encouraging. The publisher I submitted it to loved the premise, characters, and pacing, but would like to see it as a full-length novel. Thanks Annie for helping me get a foot in the door! Ella Audrey
"When it comes to editing, it’s important to form a relationship with your editor. Annie Seaton does just that. A fantastic editor and a life-long friend." Whitney Keevers-Eastman
